Kyrgyz National University (KNU) is the most important and oldest higher education institution in Kyrgyz Republic. Its integral parts are four Institutes, five Centres and 14 Departments. The University trains specialists in Humanities and Natural sciences. At present, there are about 32 500 students at the University. KNU is the education institution the most advanced on the way of reform. Institute for Integration of International Educational Programs (IIIEP) - is an academic subdivision of KNU with over 382 teachers, 180 administrative and technical staff members and about 4100 students (23 foreign students). ECTS system being introduced and modulating form of teaching and knowledge control is used in the Institute. It has been taking an active participation in more than 10 Tempus projects. In the framework of the project were signed bilateral agreements with European universities to exchange students and teachers.
