About Conexiones

Conexiones. Revista Iberoamericana de Comunicación is a Latin American Journal of Communication, published by the Inter-University Network of Communication Studies (IPEN), composed of the Universidad Austral (Argentina), Carlos III University (Spain), Universidad Diego Portales (Chile), National Autonomous University of Mexico (Mexico) University of Puerto Rico (Puerto Rico), Universidade de Sao Paulo and ESPM (Brazil), and coordinated by the Autonomous University of Barcelona (Spain).

Conexiones aims to establish a pluralistic debate on the core aspects of the culture and the media. Its explicit goal is to continue, expand and consolidate the field of critical research in Latin American societies, using different disciplines. Therefore, it can be a contribution to the development on these studies from different theoretical, empirical and historical perspectives in the changing context brought by globalization and technological revolution. Its scientific object includes researching about the emerging of communication and cultural practices, the changes in the new and old media, the impact of communication on human development, the study of texts, discourses and cultural forms, or the structures and communication policies, among other contemporary phenomena.

Conexiones is indexed in Latindex (Regional Information System for Online Scientific Journals of Latin America, the Caribbean, Spain and Portugal), in DICE (Broadcasting and Editorial Quality of Spanish Journals of Humanities and Social Sciences and Law) and on Dialnet (Resources and Document Services platform). Conexiones is also part of the ISOC Center database for Humanities and Social Sciences of the CSIC.
